Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed an order dismissing the country’s current government, reports the state-owned national news agency BelTA

Lukashenko held a meeting to discuss proposals on the composition of a new government on the morning of June 3. He also linked the cabinet’s impending resignation to the Belarusian presidential election coming up in August.

The Belarusian President underscored that the composition of the government will not see significant changes: “Do not expect a revolution to take place when the government changes,” he said.

Belarus is set to hold Presidential Elections on August 9. The country’s current president, Alexander Lukashenko has been in power since 1994, and is planning to run for a sixth term.
