More than 350,000 people have now been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Russia
On the morning of May 25, Russian officials announced that the country recorded 8,946 new coronavirus infections in the past day (347 more cases than the day before). This brings the nation’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 353,427.
The majority of the cases are in Moscow (which saw 2,560 new cases diagnosed in the past day), the Moscow region (+831), St. Petersburg (+374), the Sverdlovsk region (+279), and the Nizhny Novgorod region (+229).
Another 92 people reportedly died from the disease, raising Russia’s total number of fatalities officially caused by COVID-19 to 3,633. As many as 118, 798 people in Russia are known to have fully recovered from the disease, including 5,499 in the past day.
Russia claims to have conducted more than 8.9 million coronavirus tests so far, including 260,000 in the past day.
