Russia’s coronavirus spread continues to slow, as recovered patient population nears 100,000

On the morning of May 22, Russian officials announced that the country recorded 8,894 new coronavirus infections in the past day (45 more new cases than the day before) bringing the nation’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 326,448 patients.
Another 150 people reportedly died from the disease, raising Russia’s total number of fatalities officially caused by COVID-19 to 3,249. As many as 99,825 people in Russia are known to have recovered fully, including 7,144 in the past day.
Russia says it’s conducted more than 8.1 million coronavirus tests, so far, including 285,700 in the past day.
