Russia’s recorded COVID-19 cases surpass 32,000 with highest daily count so far
As of the morning of April 17, 4,070 new coronavirus infections have been recorded in Russia, raising the total number of officially confirmed cases to 32,000.
The highest numbers of cases recorded yesterday were in Moscow (1,959 new cases), the Moscow region (472 new cases), St. Petersburg (424 new cases), Mordovia (65 new cases), and Dagestan (59 new cases).
Nationwide, 286 recoveries from the virus were recorded yesterday, bringing the total number to 2,590. Moscow accounts for more than half of that total and 123 of the recoveries added on the morning of April 17.
Meanwhile, 41 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 died in the last day, including 14 in Moscow and 7 in the Moscow region. The total number of official fatalities in Russia is now 273.
Russia’s public health agency indicated that as of April 16, more than 1.7 million tests for the new coronavirus had been conducted throughout the country.
