Six FSB agents arrested in Moscow on bank robbery charges
Sources within Russia’s intelligence services have informed RBC that six FSB agents have been arrested in Moscow. The agents worked in the Alpha and Pennant special forces and in the K division, which handles financial investigations. RBC also reported an official investigation at the FSB special division responsible for terrorism cases.
The newspaper’s sources said that the agents stand accused of robbing a bank. One source said the amount in question was 140 million rubles ($2.2 million); another said it was 170 million ($2.7 million).
The FSB has issued no official comment on the arrest of its employees.
