An unidentified man reportedly attacked Sergey Zhigaryev, a State Duma deputy and the ranking member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship.
According to the Moskva news agency, the incident occurred on Sunday, July 8, when the assailant walked up to Zhigaryev in his car, opened the door, and punched him repeatedly in the face. The man then dragged Zhigaryev from the vehicle and continued beating him. He apparently made his getaway on public transit. According to the magazine RBC, Zhigaryev later spoke to a police sketch artist.
