Navalny loses another defamation suit, but he's not giving in

Alexey Navalny has lost another legal battle over his bombshell documentary film investigating alleged corruption involving Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Once again, a Moscow district court has ordered him to remove parts of the film, following a successful defamation lawsuit by one of the figures in Navalny’s investigation.

This time, Navalny and his Anti-Corruption Foundation lost to the “Sotsgosproekt” (Social State Project) Foundation, which is run by Ilya Eliseyev, one of Medvedev’s former classmates.

Earlier this year, Navalny and his organization lost a lawsuit to billionaire Alisher Usmanov, who demanded that Navalny retract claims that Usmanov bribed Medvedev through the Sotsgosproekt charity.

Navalny has refused to obey the court orders, appealing both verdicts.
