Alexei Ulyukayev, Russia's minister of economic development, couldn't give a hoot about the popular new mobile game Pokémon Go.

“I’m cannot really say what this is … I know what Tamagotchis are; my children have them. But Pokemon … I do not know what that is,” Ulyukayev told journalists in Tokyo during an official visit on Tuesday.

“I was told that [the Soviet children's icon] Cheburashka is very popular here in Japan, which means that we need to promote our [own] brands. Indeed, the promotion of our brands is a serious thing. It would be great,” said Ulyukayev.
