Eid al-Fitr holiday draws 214,000 people into Moscow's streets

Roughly 214,000 people participated in this year's Eid al-Fitr Muslim holiday today in Moscow, according to Interior Ministry officials. The biggest crowd—almost 90,000 people, according to reports—assembled near the Moscow Cathedral Mosque. Police say there were no public disturbances during the festivities.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
