Saratov resident files lawsuit against Putin for being an ‘enemy of the people’

A Saratov region arbitrations court is examining a lawsuit request from Balakovo City resident Nikolai Suvorov, who is calling for the impeachment of President Vladimir Putin, reports news agency FreeNews.

Suvorov's petition calls for Putin's resignation for being “an enemy of the people and a friend of oligarchs and bureaucrats, for the plunder of Russia and impoverishment of the Russian people, and for lining the pockets of officials, bankers and billionaire-crooks.”

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2016. President Putin or his representatives must issue a some sort of response to Suvorov's arbitration request by April 25.

“The application has been submitted in accordance with requirements outlined in articles 125, 126 and 199 of the Russian Arbitration Procedural Code,” stated Judge Tatyana Leskinaya.

This is the second time Nikolai Suvorov has tried to sue Russian President Vladimir Putin. His previous attempt in March 2016 was dismissed.
