Putin's alleged daughter grants her first interview, but she's never asked the question on everyone's mind

Katerina Tikhonova, the director of the Innopraktika Foundation and rumored to be one of Vladimir Putin's daughters, has granted her first interview to the media. Winning the honor was the news agency Interfax, which declined to ask her the question on everyone's mind: is she or isn't she the President's daughter? To add to the mystery, Interfax is not revealing the identity of the person who actually interviewed Tikhonova.

The interview is devoted entirely to Tikhonova's work at Moscow State University. She describes her foundation's activities, and how it's involved in a large-scale project to develop the school's un-utilized lands. Tikhonova says her organization isn't a part of the project's financial decisionmaking and is focused exclusively on developing the construction project.

“Innopraktika, I repeat, is a kind of interface for the university to establish systemic interactions with the business community. Our task is to collect opinions, suggestions, systematize them, explain different groups' interests, analyze them, and present this information to a special commission of more than 80 MSU faculty: deans, scholars, professors, and others,” Tikhonova said.

In January 2015, reports first emerged that Katerina Tikhonova is actually one of Vladimir Putin's daughters. This information was confirmed by sources at Reuters and Bloomberg, but the Kremlin declined to comment. An investigation by the Russian news agency RBC revealed that Tikhonova heads Innopraktika, which is developing plans to expand Moscow State University's campus, adding a new hi-tech center. According to RBC, the project is valued at roughly 110 billion rubles ($1.8 billion).

Further investigation by Meduza revealed that Tikhonova is a former student at Moscow State University, though it's unknown what she studied there.
