Staff from a local branch of the Federal Rescue Service (EMERCOM) in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug recently staged a touching “flashmob” at the Salekhard airport to celebrate the agency’s 25th anniversary.

During the event, firefighters distributed small flags and balloons dedicated to EMERCOM’s anniversary, and later performed a stomping dance while singing about their rescue work. The spectacle culminated with a rendition of the dance made popular by the 2012 hit song Gangnam Style.

In December 2012, Gangnam Style was the first YouTube video in history to get more than 1 billion views. Interest in the music video has declined sharply since then.

After three minutes of lively dancing by firefighters and rescue workers to the song by the famous Korean musician, there wasn’t a face in the airport without a wide smile.
