Inside a Kharkiv rehabilitation center for Ukrainian soldiers with psychological trauma

Source: Meduza

Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been wounded in combat. Many require not only physical treatment but also psychological rehabilitation, which is covered by the government. But human rights groups and media reports say the country lacks enough rehabilitation centers, leaving many soldiers to cover the costs of their own recovery. In response, the authorities have been working to get more specialists trained, while Ukraine’s Defense Ministry periodically announces new psychological support and recovery programs. Meduza shares photos from a rehabilitation center in Kharkiv, where soldiers receive treatment for combat-related psychological trauma. Since the invasion began, more than 10,000 servicemembers have undergone rehabilitation there.
