Kindergartens in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg have asked parents to donate construction materials for the purposes of the “special military operation” in Ukraine, according to the local news outlet E1 News.

According to one mother who spoke to journalists, her child’s teacher sent a message reading, “Dear parents! I ask you to participate in collecting aid for the special military operation. The list of needed items is attached.”

The list included the following items:

  • Warm clothing
  • Canned food
  • Linoleum
  • Paint
  • Brushes
  • Putty knives
  • A circular saw
  • A screwdriver
  • Wires
  • Outlets
  • Light fixtures

“It’s kind of strange and inexplicable. It’s like someone’s building a dacha or something,” one of the mothers told E1 News.
