Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin tops 92% in early district results

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has more than 92% of the vote in his single-member district in Saratov in the election for the new Duma, with 4.05% of precinct reports processed, Russia’s Central Election Commission said. Communist Party candidate Denis Bulanov is second with 4.11%.

In the previous parliamentary election, in September 2021, Volodin had 76.32% of the vote in the same district with 4.48% of precinct reports processed. He finished with 72.11% once all the reports were in.

Volodin has served as Duma speaker for the past two terms of parliament, since 2016.
