Russian woman detained for posting video of Wildberries warehouse fire after Ukrainian drone strike
Police detained a 19-year-old woman from Krasnodar who authorities say filmed a fire at a Wildberries warehouse after it was struck by Ukrainian drones on July 22.
The video, which circulated on local Telegram channels, shows the young woman pointing at the fire and saying sarcastically, “Great, now mom’s out of a job.” The footage caught the attention of Center E officers.
Police stated that she had violated a Kuban region ban on “filming and distributing materials about the operation of air defense systems, the aftermath of drone use, and the locations of military units.”
Police made her apologize on camera. She faces a fine of 30,000 to 50,000 rubles.
Ukrainian drones struck a Wildberries logistics complex in Krasnodar on July 22, setting the warehouse on fire. Several people were injured, and one later died in the hospital.
Ukraine’s military has attacked Wildberries warehouses and sorting centers four times over the past week, hitting facilities in the Moscow, Tambov, Voronezh, and Leningrad regions, Krasnodar Krai and Stavropol Krai, as well as in St. Petersburg.
Ukrainian authorities describe the strikes on Wildberries facilities as a military operation targeting Russian logistics that, they claim, supplies the Russian army with drone components and equipment.
