Kazakhstan temporarily cuts oil production after Ukrainian attacks on Russian Black Sea port

Kazakhstan has temporarily cut oil production after loading was suspended at the port of Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, the country’s Energy Ministry announced.

The ministry noted that loading was halted at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s marine terminal in Novorossiysk “to ensure the safety of vessels.”

Earlier this week and last week, Ukraine carried out drone strikes over several consecutive days targeting tankers at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal, which brings together some of the largest energy companies from Russia, the United States, Kazakhstan, and several Western European countries.

Novorossiysk has introduced a ban on nighttime vessel traffic amid the Ukrainian drone attacks on the port.
