Days after EU sanctions, Russian social network VK agrees to sell its RuStore app store to the head of the company that developed it
VK has agreed to sell 100 percent of the RuStore app store to Dmitry Pankrushev, the chief executive of the company that develops it, the company said in a press release Thursday.
VK said the RuStore team would “continue actively rolling out product updates, flexibly developing functionality, and guaranteeing the stable operation of the app store for users, developers, and partners.”
On July 13, the European Union added VK to its sanctions list, along with the company’s subsidiary Kommunikatsionnaya Platforma (Communications Platform), an investment firm that developed the Max messaging app.
Pankrushev heads Mnogo Prilozheniy (Many Apps), the company VK hired to develop RuStore. Kommersant reported that he has held senior positions in the IT sector since the early 2010s.
