Entire occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region loses power, Russian-installed official says
The entire Russian-occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region has lost power, Moscow-installed administration head Yevgeny Balitsky announced late Tuesday.
Balitsky said the blackout was caused by a Ukrainian drone strike on high-voltage equipment. He added that energy crews are trying to restore electricity through backup lines, but their work is complicated by the risk of additional further attacks.
The Ukrainian authorities have no commented, and the Ukrainian administration in the Zaporizhzhia region has not reported an outage.
In recent months, the Russian-installed officials in the Zaporizhzhia region have repeatedly reported power cuts resulting from Ukrainian strikes, affecting several hundred thousand residents.
