Several points of Volodymyr Zelensky’s “victory plan” were specifically aimed at Donald Trump and the Republican Party, Ukrainian lawmaker Yevheniya Kravchuk told RBC Ukraine following Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election.

By way of an example, Kravchuk said the proposal to have Ukrainian soldiers replace some U.S. troops stationed in Europe after the end of the full-scale war “would definitely interest Trump.” “This aligns, by the way, with what Trump has said about reducing the presence of American troops on bases in Europe,” she explained.

In a post on X congratulating Trump on his election win, Zelensky’s chief of staff Andriy Yermak said that the Ukrainian president discussed the victory plan with Trump “in detail” during a meeting in September.

“It is essential that Ukraine has bipartisan support in the United States,” he added. “‘Peace through strength’ is exactly the approach needed now.”
