Update: On May 10, Russia’s State Duma voted to reappoint Mikhail Mishustin as prime minister.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked the State Duma to approve the reappointment of Mikhail Mishustin as Russian prime minister, announced State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
After his confirmation, Mishustin will have one week to present candidates for the positions of ministers and deputy prime ministers to the president.
Mishustin formally resigned from his post on May 7, after Putin officially assumed the presidency, as required by Russian law. He has held the position of prime minister since January 2020.
