Parents of schoolchildren in Moscow’s Maryino district, where Alexey Navalny is set to be buried on Friday, have been warned that their kids should remain at school until 3:15 p.m. “to ensure their safety,” TV Rain has reported. Navalny’s funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
According to a screenshot of a parents’ messaging group published by TV Rain, at least one of the warnings was sent out on Thursday.
The message says that the school will hold an additional lesson dedicated to World Civil Defense Day. One parent TV Rain spoke to said this lesson has never been held in the past.
“If a child needs to leave before 3:15 p.m., we ask you to inform us about this, and preferably to personally meet the child at the school,” reads one message signed by a head teacher.
