During his address to Russia’s Federal Assembly on Thursday, Vladimir Putin said the country’s federal minimum wage should increase to 35,000 rubles ($385) per month by 2030.

“Since 2020, the minimum wage has increased by half — from 12,000 rubles to 19,000 rubles per month. By 2030, the minimum wage should nearly double — to 35,000 rubles,” said Putin.

Russia’s current federal minimum wage is 19,242 rubles ($211) per month. It increased by 18.5 percent from the start of 2023 to the start of 2024.
