Ukrainian media says 10 Russian military personnel killed after radar plane reportedly shot down over Azov Sea

Ukrainian outlet Ukrainska Pravda, citing a source in the country’s Main Intelligence Directorate, reported that all 10 Russian military personnel on board an A-50 radar plane were killed when it was reportedly shot down over the Sea of Azov on February 23. There is no independent confirmation of this information.

According to the outlet’s source, there were five majors, three captains, a sergeant major, and a lieutenant on board the aircraft.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has not commented on this information.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces said they shot down an A-50 plane on February 23. Russian “war correspondents” reported that the crash was caused by “friendly fire.”
