Bulgarian-born Russian pop singer Philipp Kirkorov visited wounded Russian soldiers in a hospital in the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People's Republic” (“DNR”), according to RIA Novosti and TASS.

The hospital’s chief physician told RIA Novosti that Kirkorov sang two songs to the men and “promised to help with prosthetics.” TASS wrote that Kirkorov “delivered humanitarian aid” to the injured troops.

In December, Kirkorov attended TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva’s “almost naked” party in Moscow. After the event drew the ire of the Russian authorities, participants began apologizing. In his apology, Kirkorov said he “wasn’t aware of the nature of the event” and left quickly once he’d realized what was going on.

Following the party, Kirkorov was removed from televised New Year’s shows, a poster, a TV series, and an awards ceremony concert. In early February 2024, Meduza published a list of Russian musicians whose concerts in Russia have been unofficially banned. Philipp Kirkorov is on this list.
