A Moscow court has arrested exiled writer Boris Akunin in absentia, the Moscow courts’ press service reported on Tuesday.
According to the press service, Akunin’s arrest term will begin the moment he is physically detained or transferred to Russian law enforcement.
On December 18, the Russian authorities charged the exiled writer with spreading “disinformation” about the Russian army and publicly justifying terrorism after he expressed support for Ukraine in a prank phone call. They later issued an international notice for his arrest.
