Source: Meduza

A building in Moscow that contains, among other things, a military enlistment office caught on fire on Monday morning, according to Russian state media.

The fire reportedly started on the sixth floor of a six-story building on the city’s Kolodezny Lane, where offices, cafes, and a spa are located in addition to the enlistment office. 15 fire brigades were sent to the scene.

At about 9:00 a.m. local time, TASS reported that the fire had been extinguished. The scale of the damage is unclear, as is the possible cause.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine, there have been numerous cases of citizens setting fire to military conscription offices. Suspects in some of these cases have been charged with terrorism and sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
