ICC Prosecutor Karim Ahmad Khan placed on Russia’s federal Wanted list

Source: Meduza

Russia’s Interior Ministry has placed the British jurist Karim Ahmad Khan, who serves as a prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), on the federal Wanted list.

Mediazona monitors discovered a corresponding entry in the ministry’s Wanted database. The grounds for placing Khan on the list are described as “wanted on felony charges.”

In the wake of the ICC’s decision to issue a double arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and Russia’s Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian authorities have themselves launched a prosecution, pressing charges against Khan and several ICC judges.

Khan is being charged with multiple felonies, including knowingly prosecuting an innocent, pressing unlawful felony charges, and organizing an attack on a head of state aimed at destabilizing international relations. Similar or related allegations have been made about ICC judges.
