A Russian drone attack killed nine people in the village of Chornobaivka, in Ukraine’s Kherson region, reports Strana.ua, citing local law enforcement.

According to the news outlet’s source, on May 6 the Russian military dropped an “explosive item” from a drone, hitting a pyrotechnics group who were deactivating ammunition.

Yesterday, Serhiy Kruk, head of Ukraine’s state emergency services, reported that six emergency responders were killed during shelling in Chornobaivka and two more, including a female paramedic, were hospitalized.

On the Russian side, Kremlin-appointed governor of annexed Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev reported that, in the early hours of May 7, Russian air defense forces and electronic equipment repelled a Ukrainian drone attack. Russia’s Defense Ministry said that 22 drone strikes were detected and eliminated over the Black Sea.

Razvozhaev posted on Telegram that no targets in the city of Sevastopol sustained damage.

On May 6, Russian-appointed head of annexed Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said that air defense systems had shot down a ballistic missile over the peninsula. Aksyonov’s adviser Oleg Kryuchkov later specified that there were two missiles.

The Russian-appointed authorities in occupied Crimea regularly report drone attacks on various targets, including the city of Sevastopol. An oil refinery in the region has reportedly been hit multiple times in recent days.

The FSB also says its officers prevented an attack by an explosive-packed drone at the Severny military airfield in the Ivanovo region.
