Tigran Khachikyan, an Uzbekistan native living in St. Petersburg, has critically wounded a National Guard policeman on Nevsky Prospect.
The National Guard has posted video footage of the incident:
Local Telegram channels report that the 50-year old suspect had arrived in the city center with two shotguns, two Molotov cocktails, and a sound amplifier. He set up the amp near the Gostiny Dvor subway station, blasting the World War II song “Rise Up, Great Country” while unpacking his shotgun.
When approached by a police officer, he opened fire.
Judging by the security camera footage, two gunshots had been fired. The wounded policeman is hospitalized in critical condition.
