Russian flag disappears from regional administration building in occupied Kherson

On the morning of November 3, the Russian flag disappeared from the regional administration building in Kherson, one of the four partially-occupied regions of Ukraine that Russia annexed in September, according to Kherson Regional Council First Deputy Chairman Yuri Sobolevsky.

The flag’s absence was confirmed by a correspondent from the pro-Kremlin Telegram channel Readovka and Alexander Kots, a military correspondent for Russian outlet Komsomolskaya Pravda. The pro-Russian WarGonzo project reported that Russian flags were still being flown at the city’s other government buildings.

In late October, the Kherson occupation administration relocated to the left bank of the Dnipro River as part of the “evacuation” declared by Russian authorities, collaborationist official Kirill Stremousov reported on October 27. On October 25, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff said that the occupation administration had been moved to Skadovsk, a city about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Kherson.

On November 3, Kirill Stremousov said that Russian troops might flee from the right bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region. “Most likely, our units, our troops will leave for the left-bank part of the Kherson region, and people who haven’t managed to relocate from Kherson need to evacuate as quickly as possible,” he said. Russian “war correspondents” have predicted a “change at the front” in the Kherson region in the coming days.
