A Moscow court has jailed Pussy Riot activist Rita Flores for 15 days, the news outlet Open Media reported on Thursday, July 22.
Flores was jailed on misdemeanor charges of disobeying a police officer (under Russian Administrative Code article 19.3).
She was arrested outside her home in Moscow on July 21. Pussy Riot members told Meduza that Flores was on her way to visit her fellow activist Maria Alyokhina, who is currently in custody in a special detention center.
Maria Alyokhina was detained on July 8, immediately upon being released from jail after serving a 15-day sentence. She was then jailed for another 15 days for allegedly disobeying a police officer and has been in custody ever since.
Earlier this week, Pussy Riot activists Veronika Nikulshina and Alexander Sofeev fled Russia citing persecution. Both Nikulshina and Sofeev left the country after serving two 15-day jail sentences back to back. According to Interfax, filmmaker Anna Kuzminykh, who was detained and jailed alongside Pussy Riot activists back in June, also left Russia this week after being released from custody.
