Ramzan Kadyrov’s son Adam assaulted a prisoner on video. What happened next?

In mid-September, Chechnya Governor Ramzan Kadyrov posted a <a href="https://meduza.io/en/news/2023/09/25/after-ramzan-kadyrov-posted-video-of-his-son-beating-detainee-human-rights-advocate-eva-merkacheva-demands-action-from-russia-s-justice-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">video</a> that showed his 15-year-old son, Adam Kadyrov, brutally assaulting Nikita Zhuravel, a Volgograd resident who had been arrested on charges of “offending the feelings of religious believers” after he burned a Quran. Zhuravel’s case was transferred to Chechnya’s investigative department by personal order from Alexander Bastrykin, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee. The Russian authorities have not opened any investigations into the incident. However, <a href="https://t.me/adelimkhanov_95/2406" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ramzan Kadyrov</a>, <a href="https://t.me/adelimkhanov_95/2444" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tatarstan Governor Rustam Minnikhanov</a>, and <a href="https://t.me/rashid_temrezov/4060" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Karachay-Cherkessia Governor Rashid Temrezov</a> have all given Adam state awards.
