Here’s historian Yuri Dmitriev being escorted from court after his sentencing

On July 22, a court in Petrozavodsk <a href="https://meduza.io/en/news/2020/07/22/historian-yuri-dmitriev-is-reportedly-sentenced-to-3-5-years-in-prison-on-sexual-abuse-charges-and-will-apparently-go-free-in-september-because-of-time-already-served" target="_blank">sentenced</a> historian Yuri Dmitriev to three and a half years in prison on charges of sexually assaulting his underage foster daughter. The court acquitted him of felony charges for allegedly creating child pronography and illegally owning a firearm. Given the time Dmitriev has already served in pretrial detention, he should go free in November of this year. Dmitriev <a href="https://meduza.io/en/feature/2020/07/22/nine-photos" target="_blank">did not plead guilty</a> to any of the charges.
