Putin's two latest gubernatorial appointments might as well be twins 👨‍👦‍👦

Source: Meduza

On September 26, a day after he dismissed Samara Governor Nikolai Merkushkin, Vladimir Putin also fired Nizhny Novgorod Governor Valery Shantsev. The locals in these two regions needn’t fear, however, as the president has already appointed replacements: Senator Dmitry Azarov and former Trade Ministry official Gleb Nikitin, respectively.

Hurrying to familiarize themselves with their new regional leaders, Russian Internet users quickly noticed that Azarov and Nikitin look remarkably similar. The resemblance has led to more than a few jokes about potential FaceID vulnerabilities, should one of these governors acquire the other’s iPhone X.
