‘End homophobia in Chechnya!’

Human rights activists from Amnesty International staged a demonstration outside the Russian embassy in Paris on June 2, announcing a day of solidarity with gay people in Chechnya.

Throughout the day, similar rallies took place at other Russian embassies and consulates in France, Great Britain, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, and elsewhere. Amnesty International says it has collected 650,000 signatures for a petition demanding an investigation into alleged human rights crimes against gay men living in Chechnya.
