If you hate misogynist jokes, you'll not enjoy the Russian Olympic Committee's tweets

Last week, the Russian Olympic Committee apparently mocked feminists in a tweet that has since disappeared. On May 26, the committee’s official Twitter account shared four photographs showing Russian artistic gymnast Angelina Melnikova wearing a t-shirt that said, “Everybody should be feminist.” The tweet read, “She might be a feminist, but she’s also beautiful and talented! Angelina Melnikova sends you a sunny hello and a hot kiss.”

The tweet was reportedly online until May 31, when Russian Internet users started drawing attention to the misogynist joke. 

The Russian Olympic Committee hasn’t commented on the disappearance of the tweet, but later it posted four photos of Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova, this time without any mention of feminism or “hot kisses.”
