Russian officials in the Ulyanovsk region have released a statement instructing schools to use a handout about American political commentator Tucker Carlson’s interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin for educational purposes, reports Telegram channel Sirena.

The document’s heading reads: “Handout on the use of journalist Tucker Carlson’s interview with the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin in educational institutions.”

In the handout, the interview is referred to as “a valuable source of information for the education system, which can be useful for Russia’s pedagogical community on a number of issues.” The document also says that it can be used for topics “from history and social sciences to the development of critical thinking skills and media literacy.”

Carlson’s interview with Putin, according to the document, can also be used to “raise children and young people patriotically,” help students “identify reliable sources of information,” promote “national identity among students,” and “cultivate optimism in their future and Russia’s future.”

Near the end of the seven-page document, it also mentions that, “for children whose legal guardians or other close relatives are involved in the special military operation, using this interview can help support and strengthen their mental health,” while also emphasizing “the importance of national support and unity of Russian society on this issue.”
