Director of Alexey Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation says Navalny was likely killed
Ivan Zhdanov, the director of Alexey Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation, said on a livestream with Kira Yarmysh, Navalny’s press secretary, that there was a “high degree of probability that he [Navalny] was killed.”
“Alexey Navalny has been murdered. And he was killed by Vladimir Putin,” said Zhdanov.
According to Zhdanov, “officially the hospital, officially the morgues, officially the prison colony, are now not answering calls, they are on the defensive because they understand that some kind of event has happened.”
Navalny’s spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh said that they did not have official confirmation of the information of the politician’s death yet:
Alexey’s lawyer will fly to Kharp deep into the night, because that’s how the flights go. He will arrive tomorrow morning along with Alexey’s relatives. We won’t have any confirmation until then. So we can’t formally confirm or deny the reports from all the Kremlin news agencies that Alexey Navalny has been killed. But we all understand perfectly well that Peskov, who is commenting, and Putin — that this cannot be an accident and cannot be a mistake.
