New retail chain selling products from Adidas and Reebok, which left Russia in March 2022, opening in Moscow
The Russian retailer Lestate is launching a new chain called ASP that will sell products made by the companies Adidas and Reebok, which withdrew from the Russian market after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian media reported on Wednesday.
According to Lestate’s marketing director, the first store will open this week in Moscow’s Belaya Dacha mall. He said the company has not yet decided how many ASP stores it will open in total.
Lestate has previously launched other chains that sell products whose producers left Russia, including NSP, which sells Nike products, and JNS, which sells Levi’s, Lee, and Wrangler products.
It’s unclear how the company is importing so many Western-made products, but it’s likely a case of “parallel imports,” meaning the items are being imported without the rights holders’ permission.
