Zelensky says willing to hear Trump’s peace plan, but giving up parts of Ukraine to Russia not a solution
In a Fox News interview, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was ready to sit down with former U.S. President Donald Trump and hear his proposal for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, adding, “If he has a very concrete peace plan, he can share it with me.”
Trump has said repeatedly that if he wins the next U.S. presidential election, he could end the war in Ukraine “in 24 hours.” In a November interview with NBC News, Zelensky invited Trump to Kyiv, saying he needed only “24 minutes” to explain why the war cannot be stopped in a day. Trump responded that a visit to Kyiv would be “inappropriate” at this time.
Zelensky told Fox News that while giving up parts of Ukraine to Russia could stop the war, “that is not [a] peace plan,” and not a solution he thinks the country would accept.
