Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, who is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence, said Monday that prison administrators have stopped giving him letters sent by his wife, Yulia Navalnaya, citing “signs of preparation for a crime” that they allegedly contain.

“On a daily basis, the administration informs me that they are unable to deliver another letter from Navalnaya Y.B.,” Navalny wrote on social media. “The correspondence was seized by the censor because it contained signs of preparation for a crime. It applies to all recent letters.”

Earlier this month, Navalny reported that the prison censor had confiscated 15 letters from him, claiming they contained “plans for criminal activities.”
