Russian air defenses down missiles over city of Kerch in annexed Crimea, debris crashes into shipyard

Russian air defenses shot down missiles near the Zaliv Shipyard in the city of Kerch, reported the head of annexed Crimea Sergey Aksyonov. According to him, some of the missile debris hit one of the dry docks. No one was injured.

Kerch Telegram channels reported that air defenses were activated in the city. Russian and Ukrainian media said that local residents reported hearing the sound of explosions. There were claims that the target of the attack was the Crimean bridge. Ukrainian Telegram channels said that there was smoke visible in the area near the Kerch shipyard.

During the attack on Kerch, air raid sirens were also activated in Sevastopol. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the head of annexed Sevastopol, reported that smoke visible in Sevastopol Bay was the military using “standard means of camouflage.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry has not commented on the attack.
