Eight-year-old boy killed in Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region
On the morning of August 11, Russia carried out a military strike on Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region, reported the regional head Svitlana Onyshchuk. She said that several people were injured and one child was killed in the attack.
Ukraine’s Prosecutor General specified that the Russian strike was carried out using air-launched ballistic missiles. The attack targeted infrastructure in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, though the missile crashed on a private house in the Kolomyia district, where a family with three children was living, including the eight-year-old boy that was killed. The explosion and the debris partially destroyed the house.
The prosecutor opened a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that the strike on Ivano-Frankivsk was carried out using four Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles and targeted the Kolomyia airfield.
