Russia’s Justice Ministry adds lead singer of rock group Aquarium and news outlet Bumaga to list of ‘foreign agents’
Russia’s Justice Ministry has added Boris Grebenshchikov, the lead singer of the rock group Aquarium, to its list of “foreign agents.” The Justice Ministry said Grebenshchikov was included for performing concerts abroad “in order to provide financial aid to Ukraine,” and for voicing his opposition to Russia’s war in Ukraine. The ministry also said that the musician receives foreign sources of funding.
The news outlet Bumaga and Sota have also been added to the ministry’s “foreign agents” registry. The list also includes:
- Andrey Karaulov — Television presenter
- Alexey Gorpinchenko — Journalist
- Mikhail Timonov — Member of the Moscow City Duma
- Andrey Morev — Deputy Сhairman of the Moscow branch of Yabloko political party
- The Anglo-American School of Moscow
- Pinchas Goldschmidt — former Chief Rabbi of Moscow
