Man detained in St. Petersburg in connection with Vladlen Tatarsky assassination
Another person has been detained by the police in connection with the murder of the self-styled “war correspondent” Vladlen Tatarsky.
The Russian outlet The Insider has spoken with Dmitry Rylov, who is married to Daria Trepova, the first detainee and suspect in the case. According to Rylov, his friend Dmitry Kasintsev was apprehended after the operatives discovered and arrested Trepova herself at Kasintsev’s apartment.
The authorities are yet to confirm that Kasintsev is in custody.
Rylov told the press that his wife Daria had thought that passing the statuette to Tatarsky would be a good networking opportunity, and that she therefore couldn’t have expected the gift she was delivering to explode.
The Telegram channel Shot has published a video of what appears to be a group of plainclothes operatives leading a handcuffed man. According to the channel, the detainee is Trepova’s 27-year-old friend Dmitry.
The explosion that killed Tatarsky and injured 32 at a St. Petersburg cafe occurred on Sunday, after a female visitor at the Tatarsky reading handed the blogger a gift statuette.
