FSB seeks ‘constant remote access’ to Russian taxi service databases

The Russian FSB has drafted legislation that would give intelligence agencies “constant remote access” to the databases kept by taxi companies that are included on the government’s registry of “organizers of information dissemination” (which includes Yandex).

The resolution would also require taxi services that aren’t included on the registry to provide information to Russian intelligence services within 10 days of a request, and within three days if the authorities indicate that the request is “urgent.”
