Russia’s Interior Ministry has put Denis Kapustin, the head of the right-wing militant group the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), on the federal wanted list.
According to the Russian FSB, Kapustin was involved in the alleged incursion by “Ukrainian saboteurs” into Russia’s Bryansk region in early March; in a recent assassination attempt against Konstantin Malofeev, the founder of the Russian Orthodox TV network Tsargrad; and in an attempted terrorist attack in Russia’s Volgograd region in August 2022. He was added to Russia’s list of “terrorists and extremists” in mid-March.
Two “suspected accomplices” of Kapustin, Kirill Kanakhin and Alexey Ogurtsov, were added to the wanted list as well. In early March, Russian media reported that another RDK member named Ilya Bogdanov was being sought by the Russian authorities.
