13 bodies, including an eight-month-old baby, discovered under the rubble of a Zaporizhzhia building destroyed in Russian missile strike

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports that 13 bodies were discovered under the rubble of a five-story apartment building, a section of which was destroyed by a missile strike launched by Russia early on March 2. The agency reported yesterday that one of the victims was an eight-month-old girl. She was killed with the other members of her family.

Rescue workers have saved 11 people, as well as four cats and a dog, from the wreckage of the collapsed building. Psychologists were on hand to provide assistance to the building’s 100 residents and relatives of the victims. The work to clear the rubble is ongoing.

The Ukrainian authorities have opened a criminal case concerning war crimes.
