Russia’s federal censor blocks websites of publication The Bell and esports team NAVI

Source: TASS

Russia has blocked thebell.io, the website for The Bell, a news source started by one of the country’s most prominent journalists, reports state news agency TASS, citing data from Roskomnadzor, Russia’s federal censor.

The reason for the blocking has not been specified.

Roskomnadzor also restricted access to the website navi.gg, a resource for the Ukrainian esports team NAVI, which includes players from Russia.

The editorial team at The Bell said that the real reason the news site was blocked was “a desire to cut Russians off from any point of view that differs from the government’s.”

“Our work is to find out, analyze, and inform readers of the facts. Facts are dangerous for the Russian authorities. Regardless of the blocking and our status as a ‘foreign agent,’ our work continues. It’s the best we can do for our country and for bringing peace closer,” The Bell’s editors said in a statement.
